Use arrow keys to highlight the Operational Mode field.2. Press the SPACE bar to step to the appropriate operational mode,(802.1D SWITCHING, 802.1Q SWITCHING or SecureFastVLAN).3. Use the arrow keys to highlight the SAVE command at the bottom ofthe screen and press ENTER. The Configuration Warning screenshown back in Figure 5-19 displays.!CAUTIONBefore setting the operational mode, ensure that the itemscontained in this caution are fully understood.If the module will be configured to operate as a SecureFastswitch the following procedures should be performed beforesetting the operational mode:The module must be assigned a unique IP address that hasbeen saved (i.e., the module has rebooted and the new IPaddress is active.)The Management Mode of the module will automatically be setto [STAND ALONE]. The Management Mode field will no longerdisplay on the General Configuration screen, and the modulewill no longer support Chassis configuration and Moduleselection screens. If the module will be a SecureFast switch,distributed management is not allowed.The module has been assigned SNMP community names fromthe module SNMP Community Names screen (Section 5.16).In STAND ALONE management mode, the module does notuse the community names of the 6C105 chassis.NOTEIf the 6H123-50 and 6H133-37 have been set to SecureFastVLAN, refer to your SecureFast documentation set to configurethe devices for this type of operation.
