Remove the sealant and compressor kit from itsfoam container.Tire SealantRead and follow the safe handling instructions on thesealant canister.The sealant can temporarily seal small punctures in thetread area of the tire. The sealant cannot seal sidewalldamage, large punctures, or a tire that has unseatedfrom the wheel. See Roadside Service on page 7-6 ifyou need assistance.The sealant can only be used to seal one tire. Afterusage, the sealant canister and sealant filling hoseassembly must be replaced at a dealer/retailer. SeeRemoval and Installation of Sealant Canister later inthis section.Check the tire sealant expiration date on the sealantcanister, if it has expired, see your dealer/retailer for areplacement.Using the Tire Sealant andCompressor KitFollow these directions closely for correct sealant usage.1. Place the sealant and compressor kit on the groundand unwrap the sealant filling hose from thecompressor.2. Remove the air compressor accessory plug fromthe unit. To do this, pull the top portion of thewrapped cord out first, then the bottom, and thenunsnap the plug. Do not insert the plug into anaccessory outlet yet.3. Remove the valve stem cap or tire pressuremonitoring sensor from the flat tire by turningit counterclockwise.If an object, such as a nail, has penetrated the tire,do not remove it.5-89
