When you want to open a rear door when the securitylock is on, do the following:1. Unlock the door using the remote keyless entrytransmitter, if the vehicle has one, the powerdoor lock switch, or the rear door manual lock.2. Open the door from the outside.To cancel the rear door security lock, do the following:1. Unlock the door and open it from the outside.2. Insert the key into the security lock slot and turn itso the slot is in the vertical position.Lockout ProtectionYour vehicle can be programmed to sound the hornthree times and unlock the driver’s door when all doorsare closed and there is a keyless access transmitterinside the interior of the vehicle. When the driver’s dooris reopened, the key in reminder chime will soundcontinuously. The vehicle will remain locked only whenat least one transmitter has been removed from thevehicle and both doors are closed. See VehiclePersonalization on page 2-60.Trunk{CAUTION:It can be dangerous to drive with the trunk lidopen because carbon monoxide (CO) gas cancome into your vehicle. You cannot see orsmell CO. It can cause unconsciousness andeven death. If you must drive with the trunk lidopen or if electrical wiring or other cableconnections must pass through the sealbetween the body and the trunk lid:• Make sure all other windows are shut.• Turn the fan on your heating or coolingsystem to its highest speed and select thecontrol setting that will force outside airinto your vehicle.
