Using the Auxiliary Input JackThe radio system has an auxiliary input jack. It is in thecenter console bin. This is not an audio output; do notplug the headphone set into the front auxiliary input jack.An external audio device such as an iPod, laptopcomputer, MP3 player, etc. can be connected to theauxiliary input jack for use as another source for audiolistening.Set up any auxiliary device while the vehicle is stopped.See Defensive Driving on page 4-2 for more informationon driver distraction.To use a portable audio player, connect a 3.5 mm(1/8 inch) cable to the radio’s front auxiliary input jack.The radio automatically detects the device and “Aux InputDevice” displays. The device begins playing over thevehicle speakers. If an auxiliary device has already beenconnected, press the radio’s AUX or CD/AUX button.VOL/ O (Volume/Power): Turn clockwise orcounterclockwise to increase or decrease the volume ofthe portable player. Use the portable device to makeadditional volume adjustments.FM/AM: Press to listen to the radio when a portableaudio device is playing. The portable audio devicecontinues playing, until it is stopped.CD or CD/AUX (CD/Auxiliary): Press to play a CDwhen a portable audio device is playing. Press again tostart playing audio from the connected portable audioplayer. If a portable audio player is not connected,“No Aux Device” displays.Using the Radio Controls to Connectand Control an iPodAn iPod can be controlled by using the radio buttonsand knobs; the song information shows on the radio’sdisplay. To connect and control the iPod using the radiocontrols, the vehicle must have a USB port. If it does, it islocated in the center console bin. You will also need thespecial iPod connection cable that came as standardequipment with the vehicle as part of the USB option.The special iPod connection cable can also be purchasedor made available, from your dealer/retailer.
