Power Door LocksOn vehicles with power door locks, the switches arelocated on the front doors." (Unlock): Press to unlock the doors.Q (Lock): Remove the key from the ignition and pressto lock the doors.Delayed LockingWith this feature, you can delay the actual locking of thedoors.When the power door lock switch is pressed when thekey is not in the ignition and the driver door is opened,a chime will sound three times indicating that delayedlocking is active.When all the doors are closed, the doors will lockautomatically after five seconds. If a door is reopenedbefore five seconds have elapsed, the five second timerwill reset itself once all the doors are closed again.You can press the door lock switch again or the lockbutton on the RKE transmitter to override this featureand lock the doors immediately.Programmable Automatic DoorLocksIf the vehicle has an automatic transmission, the vehicleis programmed so that the doors will lock automaticallywhen all doors are closed, the ignition is on, and theshift lever is moved out of P (Park). The doors willautomatically unlock when the vehicle is stoppedand the shift lever is moved into P (Park).If the vehicle has a manual transmission, the vehicle isprogrammed so that the doors will lock automaticallyafter the vehicle speed reaches 5 mph (8 km). The doorswill automatically unlock when the ignition is turnedoff and the key is removed from the ignition.If someone needs to exit the vehicle once the doorsare locked, have that person use the manual leveror power door lock switch. When the door is closedagain, it will not lock automatically. Use the manuallever or the power door lock switch to lock the door.The power door locks can be programmed throughprompts displayed on the Driver InformationCenter (DIC).
