Radio Data System (RDS)The audio system has a Radio DataSystem (RDS). RDS features areavailable for use only on FM stationsthat broadcast RDS information.With RDS, the radio can:• Seek to stations broadcasting theselected type of programming• Receive announcementsconcerning local and nationalemergencies• Display messages from radiostationsThis system relies on receivingspecific information from thesestations and only works when theinformation is available. In rarecases, a radio station couldbroadcast incorrect information thatcauses the radio features towork improperly. If this happens,contact the radio station.The RDS system is always on.When information is broadcast fromthe current FM station, the stationname or call letters display onthe audio screen. RDS can providea program type (PTY) for currentprogramming and the name ofthe program being broadcasted.Satellite RadioXM™ Satellite Radio ServiceVehicles with an XM satelliteradio tuner and an XM satellite radiosubscription can receive XMprogramming.XM is a satellite radio service that isbased in the 48 contiguous UnitedStates and 10 Canadian provinces.XM Satellite Radio has a widevariety of programming andcommercial-free music,coast-to-coast, and in digital-qualitysound. A service fee is requiredto receive the XM service.
