A fluid loss in this systemcould indicate a problem. Have thesystem inspected and repaired.How to Check Power SteeringFluidTo check the power steering fluid:1. Turn the key off and let theengine compartment cool down.2. Wipe the cap and the top of thereservoir clean.3. Unscrew the cap and wipe thedipstick with a clean rag.4. Replace the cap and completelytighten it.5. Remove the cap again and lookat the fluid level on the dipstick.The level should be between theHOT and COLD marks. If necessary,add only enough fluid to bring thelevel between the marks.What to UseTo determine what kind of fluid touse, see Recommended Fluids andLubricants on page 11‑7. Alwaysuse the proper fluid.Washer FluidWhat to UseWhen adding windshield washerfluid to the vehicle, be sure to readthe manufacturer's instructionsbefore use. If you will be operatingyour vehicle in an area where thetemperature may fall below freezing,use a fluid that has sufficientprotection against freezing.Adding Washer FluidThe WASHER FLUID LOW ADDFLUID message will appear on theDriver Information Center (DIC)when the fluid level is low.
