Low-Profile Performance TireIf your vehicle has P255/50R20 size tires, they areclassified as low-profile performance tires. Thesetires are designed for very responsive driving onwet or dry pavement. You may also notice moreroad noise with low-profile performance tires andthat they tend to wear faster.Notice: If the vehicle has low-profile tires,they are more susceptible to damage from roadhazards or curb impact than standard profiletires. Tire and/or wheel assembly damagecan occur when coming into contact withroad hazards like, potholes, or sharp edgedobjects, or when sliding into a curb. Thevehicle warranty does not cover this type ofdamage. Keep tires set to the correct inflationpressure and, when possible avoid contactwith curbs, potholes, and other road hazards.Winter TiresIf you expect to drive on snow or ice covered roadsoften, you may want to get winter tires for your vehicle.All season tires provide good overall performance onmost surfaces but they may not offer the tractionyou would like or the same level of performance aswinter tires on snow or ice covered roads.Winter tires, in general, are designed for increasedtraction on snow and ice covered roads. With wintertires, there may be decreased dry road traction,increased road noise, and shorter tread life. If you choose winter tires witha lower speed rating, never exceed the tire’s maximumspeed capability.5-49
