Some of these features are listed in the table below. The descriptionin the third column is a description of the default setting. In other words, this is howthe machine operates unless you change the referenced setting.If your machine is not operating as described, the default settings may have alreadybeen changed. In such a case, you may want to go to the referenced page torestore the default setting.Feature Menu Item Description of DefaultKey Press Sound VOLUME CONTROLKEYPAD VOLUMEEvery time you press a numeric key you should hear abeep. The volume of this beep can be adjusted or it canbe turned ‘OFF’. (See Chapter 5, “Summary ofImportant Settings,” in the Reference Guide.)Date Format DATE SETUP In the Standby mode, the date is given in the formatMM/DD/YYYY. Two other formats are available. (SeeChapter 5, “Summary of Important Settings,” in theReference Guide.)Dialing Timeout TIME OUT The machine automatically pauses five seconds afteryou press a speed dialing key to allow you to dial othernumbers for sequential broadcasting. You can turn thetimeout feature ‘OFF’. (See “TX (Send) Settings,” on p.11-14.)Document SmallerThan PaperSELECT CASSETTECASSETTE SW BIf you receive a letter size document and only a largerpaper size is available, the machine prints the documenton the larger paper. If you do not want the smallerdocument printed on large paper, you can receive thedocument in memory. This switch is effective only whenletter size paper runs out. (See “Printer Settings,” on p.11-19.)Document TooLarge for PaperSELECT CASSETTECASSETTE SW AIf you receive a legal size document and only letter sizepaper is available, the document is divided over twopages or reduced. If you do not want to dividedocuments, you can receive them in memory. Thisswitch is effective only when the paper cassettes are setto legal size, and out of legal size paper.
