ERROR CODEE-1COPYRIGHT © 2001 CANON INC. 2000 2000 2000 2000 CANON iR105 REV.0 JULY 20011 Error Codes1.1 Outline of Error CodesThe CPU on the machine’s main controller PCB and DC controller PCB is equipped witha self diagnostic mechanism that monitors the condition of the machine (especially of thesensors); upon detection of a fault, it indicates the fact in the control panel using an errorcode.A description of each code and the timing of its detection are as discussed hereafter; thesuffix that may follow each code is a detail code, which may be checked in service mode(COPIER>DISPLAY>JAM/ERR).The error codes are grouped as follows according to the items they refer to:E000 to E399 error code related to the copierE400 to E499 error code related to the ADFE500 to E514 error code related to the finisherE515 error code related to the inserterE518 error code related to the paper folding unitE530 to E595 error code related to the finisherE5F0 to E5F9 error code related to the saddle stitch assemblyE601 to E830 error code related to the copierWhen the self diagnostic mechanism has gone ON, the machine may be re-set by turning its power switch. This, however, does not apply to E000,E001, E002, E003, E004, E005, E013, E020, or E717, indicating a faultwhich can lead to serious consequences if the machine is reset without re-moving the cause (i.e., melting thermistor, which will overheat the fixingroller, or overflowing of toner from the hoper). If the code is from E000 to E003, the power switch will go OFF in about 30sec if it is turned ON without resetting; in the case of E004, the powerswitch will go OFF in about 3 sec after indicting E000 if the power switchis turned ON without resetting. You will have to clear the data in the RAM on the DC controller PCB forthe following: E000, E001, E002, E003, E004, E005, E013, E020, andE717.
