22English42N_S 42N_EControlsElectric heaters are controlled by “B”-type CARRIER control. The electric heaters are equipped with two safety thermostats, onewith automatic reset, the second with manual reset, to protect the unitagainst overtemperature that may happen in case of incorrect filtercleaning or obstructions of the air flow.NOTES:In the size 15 unit with “HIGH -LOW POWER” heating element, tthe ULOW and LOW speed wire (RED AND YELLOW MOTOR WIRE)must be disconnected and insulated. In case of failure in the electric fan, replace the electric heater too.tOnly qualified personnel should carry out this operation.T-o access the control box panel, remove the screw located at thebottom of the cover and delicately bend the tab to remove the cover.Connect the power supply to the electric heater terminal. Size thecables according to current drawn (see table III “Technical data ofelectric heater). It is important not to obstruct the supply or air flow and toperiodically check that the filter is clean.NOTE:The simultaneous use of hot water and electric heater is possiblein “ONLY LOW POWER” mode. Electric heaters and hot water cannot be used in high power mode. To operate the additional heatingfunction you need to buy the 42N9084 kit and connect the specialsensor as described in the installation manual. After this, thecorresponding dip switch no. 5 of the type B control must be set toON.The units have tangential/centrifugal motors with selectable speeds. There are 5 speeds available:For sizes S15-S20-S30-S45, there are 5 available speeds Ultra Low- Low-Medium-High-Super High (see table on the right). All machines are configured at the factory as follows:ULTRA LOW - MEDIUM – SUPER HIGH.In the case of particular needs, it is possible to move the speedconnections (with Faston quick-connectors) following the enclosedtable and relative drawing (see Fig. 29).For sizes S26-S42-S65 3 speeds are available: Low-Medium-High (seetab. on the side). For size 15 with electric heater the only wiring possible is reported ontable on the side and fig. 29b.Diagnostic warningsThe following alarm situations are indicated:Defective sensors: the red LED flashes.Possible causes:failure or short circuit of internal or remote sensor;tfailure or short circuit of water temperature sensor (optional and onlyton type “A” control).Incorrect configurationThe yellow LED flashes. This happens when:in type “A” control, both centralised seasonal changeover signals “RCtand RH” are enabled.AutotestThe autotest function is activated by holding the seasonal changeoverbutton pressed and at the same time pressing the “ ” button threetimes within 1 second. In this way it is possible to check the starting of all fan coils. The blue and red LEDs will begin to flash. Each of the various units will be activated for 10 seconds in the followingsequence:Low fan speed.Medium fan speed.High fan speed.CV Motorized cold-water valve.HV Motorized hot-water valve, or electric heater (only type “B”control versions).Elapsed 1 minute the control ends the test mode.Electric heaterFan MotorMOTOR SPEED CABLE COLORENGINEFACTORYCONNECTIONONLY FOR SIZE 15WHIT ELECTRICHEATERULTRA LOW RED RED -LOW YELLOW -MEDIUM WHITE WHITE REDHIGH ORANGE WHITESUPER HIGH BLACK BLACK BLACKMOTOR NEUTRAL BLUE BLUE BLUEMOTOR SPEED CABLE COLORENGINEFACTORYCONNECTIONHIGH BLACK BLACKMEDIUM WHITE WHITELOW RED REDMOTOR NEUTRAL BLUE BLUEMotor 5 speedMotor 3 speed
