Observe the Warning for Your Personal Safetyand Protection of Your Equipment describedearlier in this chapter. Also observe the safetyinstructions at the front of this guide.2. If you have installed a padlock (see Figure 7-1)through the two rings on the cover and theback panel, remove the padlock.Figure 7-1. Padlock Installed3. Remove the cover.From the front of the computer, press the securingbutton on each side of the cover. With the buttonsdepressed, lift the cover at the back, allowing it topivot up toward you (see Figure 7-2).Disengage the plastic hooks that secure the cover tothe front of the chassis, and lift the cover away.Figure 7-2. Removing the Computer CoverReplacing the Computer CoverUse the following procedure to replace the computercover:1. Check all cable connections, especially those thatmight have come loose during your work. Foldcables out of the way so that they do not catch onthe computer cover and do not block airflow tothe processor(s). Make sure cables are not routedover the drive cage—they will prevent the coverfrom closing properly.2. Check to see that no tools or extra parts (includ-ing screws) are left inside the computer’s chassis.3. Replace the cover.From the front of the computer, hold the cover atabout a 45-degree angle as shown in Figure 7-3.
