Removing the Expansion-Card Cage4. Lift the expansion-card cage up and away fromthe chassis.Replacing the Expansion-Card CageUse the following procedure to replace the expansion-card cage:1. With the securing lever in the upright position, fitthe expansion-card cage flush against the left wallof the chassis and lower it into place.2. Rotate the securing lever toward the front of thechassis, all the way down. Make sure the riserboard is fully seated in the RISER connector onthe system board.3. Reconnect any cables you removed in step 2 of theprevious procedure, “Removing the Expansion-Card Cage.”Rotating the Power Supply AwayFrom the System BoardThe memory and battery sockets and the power and pro-cessor fan connectors lie beneath the power supply. Toaccess any of these features, you can rotate the powersupply away from the system board as follows:1. Remove the computer cover as instructed in“Removing the Computer Cover” found earlierin this chapter.2. Unplug the alternating current (AC) power cablefrom the AC power receptacle on the back of thecomputer (see Figure 7-5).3. Facing the front of the computer, locate the securingtab (labeled “RELEASE”) at the back-left corner ofthe power supply (see Figure 7-7). Push the tab tothe left to disengage the power supply, and rotatethe power supply to the right until it stops.The power supply can remain in this vertical positionwhile you work on the system board.To replace the power supply, rotate it back into position,making sure that the securing tab snaps into place.Figure 7-7.
