NetExtender Configuration | 191Chapter 7NetExtender ConfigurationThis chapter provides information and configuration tasks specific to the NetExtender pages onthe SRA Web-based management interface.NetExtender is an SRA client for Windows, Mac, Linux, or Android smartphone users that isdownloaded transparently and allows you to run any application securely on the company’snetwork. It uses Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP). NetExtender allows remote clients to haveseamless access to resources on your local network.Users can access NetExtender two ways: Using the Net Extender button on the SRA userportal, or by using the NetExtender standalone client, which is installed by clicking on theNetExtender button in the SRA Web-based management interface. The NetExtenderstandalone client application can be accessed directly from the Windows Start menu, from theApplication folder or dock on Mac systems, by pathname or from the shortcut bar on Linuxsystems, and with the icon on Android smartphones.On Windows systems, NetExtender supports establishing a VPN session before logging in toWindows.The standalone NetExtender Mobile client is available for devices running Windows Mobile 5PocketPC and Windows Mobile 6 Professional/Classic.The SRA appliance supports client certificates in both the standalone Windows NetExtenderclient and the NetExtender Mobile client.NetExtender supports IPv6 client connections from Windows systems running Vista or newer,and from Linux clients.
