Decodingis performed with emphasis on separationperformance to achieve the same atmosphere with2-channel sources as with 6.1-channel sources.This mode is effective for playing sources recordedin conventional surround formats as well, becausethe in-phase component is assigned mainly to thecenter channel (C) and the reversed phasecomponent to the surround (SL, SR and SBchannels).• Music:This mode is suited mainly for playing music. Thefront channel (FL and FR) signals bypass the decoderand are played directly so there is no loss of soundquality, and the effect of the surround signals outputfrom the center (C) and surround (SL, SR and SB)channels add a natural sense of expansion to thesound field.CENTER IMAGE (0.0 to 1.0: default 0.3):The center image parameter for adjusting theexpansion of the center channel in the DTS NEO:6MUSIC mode has been added.SURROUNDPARAMETERENTERSTANDARDCURSORPHONESSURROUNDSURROUNDPARAMETERENTERSTANDARDCURSORThe Dolby HeadphoneThe Dolby Headphone mode is set when headphonesare connected to the PHONES jack while in theDOLBY/DTS SURROUND mode.1 Press the SURROUND PARAMETERbutton.• Display the surround parameter menu.2 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button toselect the parameter.3 Press the CURSOR FF or GG button toselect the setting.4 Press the ENTER or SURROUNDPARAMETER button to complete thesetting.2 ParametersMODE:• DH1:Reference room (small room with weakreverberations).• DH2:Live room (room with a bit stronger reverberationsthan DH1).• DH3:Large room (larger room than DH1, offers a sense ofdistance and sound diffusion effects).• BYPASS:Stereo sound.DECODER:Select this when playing analog, PCM or other 2-channel sources.The signals are converted into multichannel signalsusing the decoders shown below and played in theDolby Headphone mode.• PLII C:Dolby Pro Logic II Cinema mode.• PLII M:Dolby Pro Logic II Music mode.• NEO:6 C:DTS NEO:6 Cinema mode.• NEO:6 M:DTS NEO:6 Music mode.• OFF:The signals are played in the Dolby Headphonemode as such (2 channels).– Recording –When RECOUT mode is set to “SOURCE”, with thisamplifier signals encoded in the Dolby Headphonemode can be output from the recording outputterminals and recorded on another recorder (page 40).The mode switches as shown below each timethe STANDARD button is pressed.2• When “Default” is selected and the CURSOR FFbutton is pressed, “MODE” and “TONE” areautomatically reset to the default values and“CINEMA EQ.” is set to “OFF”.• When playing PCM digital signals or analog signals inthe DOLBY PRO LOGIC II, DOLBY PRO LOGIC IIx,DTS NEO:6 modes and the input signal switches toa digital signal encoded in Dolby Digital, the Dolbysurround mode switches automatically. When theinput signal switches to a DTS signal, the modeautomatically switches to DTS surround.
