IN inputmode. Depending on the player you are using, thesubwoofer channel’s playback level may seem toohigh. If so, set “SW ATT” to “ON”.For DENON players, use with the default settings(“OFF”).Subwoofer ON/OFF:The subwoofer output can be controlled directly.ROOM SIZE:This sets the size of the sound field. There are five settings: “small”, “med.s” (medium-small), “medium”, “med.l” (medium-large) and“large”. “small” recreates a small sound field,“large” a large sound field.EFFECT LEVEL:This sets the strength of the surround effect. The level can be set in 15 steps from 1 to 15. Lowerthe level if the sound seems distorted.2 Surround parameters yEFFECT:This parameter turns the effect signals with multisurround mode speaker effects on and off in theWIDE SCREEN mode. When this parameter isturned off, the SBL and SBR channel signals areequivalent to the SL and SR channels, respectively.LEVEL:This parameter sets the strength of the effectsignals in the WIDE SCREEN mode. It can be set in15 steps, from “1” to “15”. Set this to a low level ifthe positioning or phase of the surround signalssounds unnatural.SB CH OUT:• ON:Playback is conducted using the surround backspeaker.• OFF:Playback is conducted without using the surroundback speaker.NOTE:This operation can be performed directly pressingthe SURROUND BACK button on the main unit’s panel.Example: DSP surround simulation modeExample: 7CH STEREO mode• The “7CH STEREO” display changes as shownbelow according to the surround back speakersetting.
