49ENGLISHAdvanced Setup – Part 1 Advanced Setup – Part 1ENGLISHOption SetupMake other expert settings.Setting the Channel SetupWith this setting it is possible to change the number ofchannels played in the different zones according to thepurpose.This configures the AVC-A11XV according to whetheror not you have surround “B” speakers connected,and whether or not you have surround back (SB)speaker(s) connected.The number of channels output from the pre-outconnectors exclusively for ZONE2 and 3 can be set to“Mono” or “Stereo” according to the method ofplayback in the various multi-zones.Adjustments made in this section will have aneffect on the various “Setting the Power AmplifierAssignment” setting options ( page 49, 50).1 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button toselect the “Option Setup” at the“System Setup Menu”, then press theENTER button.• Display the “Option Setup” menu screen.3 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button toselect the zone, then press the CURSORFF or GG button to select the channelsetting. 4 Press the ENTER button to enter thesetting.• The “Option Setup” menu reappears.2 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button toselect the “Channel Setup”, then pressthe ENTER button.• Display the “Channel Setup” screen.Main Zone:• Surr. Back:2sp:Select if you have a pair of surround backspeakers connected (SBL & SBR).1sp:Select if you have one surround back speakerconnected to SBL.Not Used:Select if you do not have surround backspeaker(s).Setting the Power AmplifierAssignmentAVC-A11XV’s power amplifiers for seven channels(except the front channel), can be assigned to anychannels in the MAIN ZONE, ZONE2 or ZONE3 andoutput to the speakers. In this way, power amplifiersnot being used in the main zone can be assigned formulti-zone use, the front speakers can be connectedwith a “Bi-Amp”, etc., so you can create the desiredspeaker system.The available power amplifier channels that can bere-assigned may differ, according to settingspreviously made in the “Channel Setup” menu( page 49).1 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button toselect the “Power Amp Assign” at the“Option Setup” menu, then press theENTER button.• Display the “Power Amp Assign” screen.2 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button toselect the power amplifier to beassigned, then press the CURSOR FF orGG button to select which channel toassigned the amplifier to.Center:If no center speaker is connected in the mainroom, the center speaker power amplifier channelcan be assigned to either ZONE2 or ZONE3 if setto “Mono” at “Channel Setup”.• ZONE2:The second zone’s mono output is provided bythe center speaker’s power amplifier.• ZONE3:The third zone’s mono output is provided by thecenter speaker’s power amplifier.• – – –:No signals are output from the center speaker’spower amplifier channel.Surr. B:The Surround B amplifier channels can be re-assigned if they are not being used in the mainroom, and the Surround A amplifier channels areassigned to either the surround channels or to thefront channels.• Front B:This mode sets the Surround B amplifierchannels to drive a second set of stereo outputsthat match the front left and right speakers,providing a Speaker B option for stereo sound inanother location ( page 47).• – – –:No signals are output from the surround backspeaker terminals.Surr. A:The Surround A power amplifier channels can beassigned if Surround B is not activated in the mainroom (MAIN ZONE).• Front:This provides a bi-amp mode for the two mainfront speakers, replicating the front left and frontright amplifier channels’ outputs.• Front B:The surround A power amplifier channels can beused to provide a second set of stereo outputsthat match the front left and right speakers,providing a Speaker B option for stereo sound inanother location ( page 47).• ZONE2:This mode assigns the Surround A amplifierchannels to provide ZONE2 speaker-leveloutputs from the Surround A speaker jacks, withthe option of monaural or stereo operationdepending on the “Channel Setup” setting.• ZONE3:This mode assigns the Surround A amplifierchannels to provide ZONE3 speaker-leveloutputs from the Surround A speaker jacks, withthe option of monaural or stereo operationdepending on the “Channel Setup” setting.• – – –:No signals are output from the Surround Aspeaker terminals.If “Mono” is selected for ZONE2 or ZONE3,monaural (single channel) sound is output fromboth of the ZONE2 or ZONE3 left and rightchannels pre-amp output terminals.Zone2:• Stereo:Select for stereo playback in ZONE2 (twochannels).• Mono:Select for monaural playback in ZONE2 (onechannel).Zone3:• Stereo:Select for stereo playback in ZONE3 (twochannels).• Mono:Select for monaural playback in ZONE3 (onechannel).
