2 Engineering2.8 Safe Torque Off (STO)Rapid Link 5 · RAMO5 · RASP5 05/20 MN034004EN www.eaton.com 572.8.6 STO function pick-up timeThe total pick-up time for the STO function is the time that elapses from themoment a safety-relevant event occurs on the system’s components (aggre-gate) to the moment a safe state is reached (in this case: Stop category 0 asdefined in IEC 60204-1):• The pick-up time from the moment the STO inputs become de-ener-gized to the moment when the outputs in the power section (U, V, W)are in a state in which no torque is produced in the motor (STO functionactivated) is less than 1 ms.• The pick-up time from the moment the STO inputs become de-energizedto the moment the STO monitoring status changes is less than 20 ms.• The pick-up time from the moment a fault is detected in the STO circuitto the moment Sto-F is signaled is less than 20 ms.2.8.7 STO function messagesDuring normal operation (supply voltage present), there are various optionsfor monitoring the state of the STO inputs.If the STO inputs are de-energized, the STO LED does not light up andInHibt is displayed in the associated operating unit (Inhibit - German: Lock,locked state).If the RASP5 variable frequency drive detects a fault, the corresponding faultcode will be displayed (Sto-F) (not: Inhibt).2.8.8 Error MessagesThe following table lists the error messages relevant to the STO function aswell as potential causes and remedial measures.Table 8: Error Messages→ The STO function is always activated and enabled in the RASP5speed controller - regardless of the operating mode.Keypad display LED display STO MeaningInhibit Off there is no releaseStOP Green there is releaseSto-F - Internal STO fault
