Do notremove the pin.10 Models without rotating jib boom: Removeboth of the jib boom leveling links from the bellcrank.Models with rotating jib boom: Removeboth of the jib boom leveling links from the jibboom rotator.11 Attach a lifting strap from an overhead craneto the rod-end of the jib boom lift cylinder.12 Models without rotating jib boom: Use asoft metal drift to remove the jib boom liftcylinder rod-end pivot pin. Remove the jibboom lift cylinder from the bell crank.Models with rotating jib boom: Use a softmetal drift to remove the jib boom lift cylinderrod-end pivot pin. Remove the jib boom liftcylinder from the jib boom rotator.Crushing hazard. The jib boomlift cylinder may becomeunbalanced and fall when it isremoved from the machine if it isnot properly supported by theoverhead crane.3-2 Jib Boom Bell Crank (models without rotati ng jib boom)3-2Jib Boom Bell Crank (modelswithout rotating jib boom)How to Remove the Jib BoomBell CrankNote: Perform this procedure with the boom in thestowed position.Note: When removing a hose assembly or fitting, the O-ring (if equipped) on the fitting and/or hoseend must be replaced. All connections must betorqued to specification during installation. Refer toSpecifications, Hydraulic Hose and Fitting TorqueSpecifications.1 Remove the jib boom. Refer to RepairProcedure, How to Remove the Jib Boom.2 Support and secure the jib boom bell crank toan appropriate lifting device.3 Remove the pin retaining fasteners from theslave cylinder rod-end pivot pin. Do notremove the pin.4 Place a block of wood under the platformleveling slave cylinder for support. Protect thecylinder rod from damage.5 Remove the pin retaining fasteners from thejib boom bell crank at the extension boom.Use a soft metal drift to remove the pin.6 Use a soft metal drift to remove the slavecylinder rod-end pivot pin.7 Remove the jib boom bell crank from theextension boom.Crushing hazard. The jib boombellcrank may becomeunbalanced and fall if it is notproperly supported when it isremoved from the machine.
