107Traffic mirroring configurationIntroduction to traffic mirroringTraffic mirroring copies the specified packets to the specified destination for packet analyzing andmonitoring. It is implemented through QoS policies. In other words, you define traffic classes andconfigure match criteria to classify packets to be mirrored and then configure traffic behaviors to mirrorpackets that fit the match criteria to the specified destination. Traffic mirroring allows you to flexiblyclassify packets by defining match criteria and obtain accurate statistics. You can configure the traffic to be mirrored to an interface, to a CPU, or to a VLAN.• Mirroring traffic to an interface copies the matching packets to a destination interface.• Mirroring traffic to a CPU copies the matching packets to a CPU.NOTE:For more information about QoS policies, traffic classes, and traffic behaviors, seeACL and QoSConfiguration Guide.Traffic mirroring configuration task listComplete these tasks to configure traffic mirroring:Task RemarksRequiredMirroring traffic to a portConfiguring trafficmirroring of different types Mirroring traffic to the CPURequiredPerform at least oneconfiguration.Configuring a QoS policy RequiredApply a QoS policy to a portApply a QoS policy to a VLANApply a QoS policy globallyApplying a QoS policyApply a QoS policy to the control planeRequiredPerform one of theseconfigurationsConfiguring traffic mirroringConfiguring match criteriaFollow these steps to configure match criteria:To do… Use the command… RemarksEnter system view system-view —
