Allow the bulb of the sensor to extend approximately 1½inches into the room. Use a wire tie on the push-in tab to securethe sensor wire.G. Control Board InstallationThe control board is packaged in a static resistantbag. Use care when handling, hold the circuit boardonly by the edges. In a large fireplace opening, youmay have plenty of space for the circuit board to re-main attached. For a smaller fireplace opening, you'lllikely need to remove the wiring from the circuit boardto route it through the side of the mounting frame andout through the control opening. Follow these steps;• Disconnect the 11 pin harness plug.• Disconnect the red twisted ESP wire.• Feed the harness wires and the ESP wire throughthe opening in the mounting frame and outthrough the control opening in the surround panel.• Holding the control board outside the opening inthe surround panel, re-attach the harness plugand the ESP wire.• After determining the location of the Room Sen-sor (See next Section), Attach it to the two malespade terminals near the top of the circuit board.NOTE: These connections are not polarity specific.• From the power cord, attach the green groundwire to the grounding post located on the feederair intake snout.• The black wire from the power cord gets attachedto the short brown wire from the control harness• The white wire from the power cord will attach tothe short white wire on the control harness.• Install the control panel into the surround; Rightside first, then tilt in the left side.• Secure using the four black machine screws in-cluded with the surround.H. Room Sensor InstallationAlthough not required, it is recommended that theroom sensor be connected in every installation. Usinga minimum size 18 gauge wire, you may splice in anadditional length, to extend the room sensor. The fol-lowing are typical locations for the room sensor;• On an interior wall next to or in place of a typicalwall thermostat.• On the leg of a coffee table or end table in yourfavorite sitting location.• Sticking out through the punched hole at the lowerright corner of the control panel.Note: When installing the room sensor externally, limit the distance from the stove to 25 feet or less.Once the location has been decided, run the wiring tothe control panel. You'll need to remove the two ter-minals from the end of the sensor cable and replacethem with the two smaller terminals from the hardwarebag. Plug the terminals into the circuit board. Theseconnections are not polarity specific.Note: If the room sensor is located too close tothe appliance, or in a direct path of the distribu-tion air, You may need to elevate the temperaturesetting to maintain a comfortable temperaturelevel throughout the heated space.See Draft Test Procedure on Page 26.F. Installing the Body into theMounting FrameThe rollers on the sides of the insert body will ride onthe rails of the mounting frame. Once the body is allthe way in, hook and close the top spring latches oneach side to secure.
