If the AutoPlayfeature of Windows is enabled, it will automatically startthe installation program (or the first song of a music CD)when you insert a disc in the drive. For moreinformation about AutoPlay, refer to the MicrosoftWindows help system.Some programs install on your hard disk drive, but alsorequire a CD or DVD to be in the drive before theprogram will start. If the program is already installed andyou insert the disc, the AutoPlay feature will start theprogram automatically.If your IBM computer has a DVD-ROM drive, theAutoPlay feature will always start AutoPlay-enabled CDsor DVDs. If there are no AutoPlay-enabled programs ona DVD video disc, the AutoPlay feature will start theDVD video.Updating programsIBM Update Connector program. You can use the IBMUpdate Connector program to look for available updatesfor the software that came from the factory with yourcomputer.Norton AntiVirus program. If you have Norton Antivirusinstalled, you can update the Norton AntiVirus programusing the Norton Live Update program. This programwill automatically apply available updates to the NortonAntiVirus program.NoteIn some cases, the harddisk drive in the modelyou purchased may not belarge enough to completea full install of eachprogram. In these cases,use the “partial install”option if you want toinstall all of the programsto the same hard diskdrive.
