The IBM virtual media key addsgraphical remote control functionality to the IMM. The IBM virtual media key ships standardwith the x3690 X5 and the x3850 X5.The AMM, in conjunction with the IMM, provides the remote control functionality for the HX5.The available features for all three systems are similar with regard to using the graphicalremote control. You can perform the following common tasks with the remote control function: Control the power of the systems Mount remote media, which includes CD/DVD-ROMs, supported ISO and firmwareimages, and USB devices Create your own customized keyboard key sequences using the soft key programmer Customize your viewing experience9.4.1 Accessing the Remote Control feature on the x3690 X5 and the x3850 X5Follow these steps to use the Remote Control feature on the IMM for the x3690 X5 and thex3850 X5:1. Log in to the IMM of the specific system that you want to control.2. Select Tasks Remote Control, as shown in Figure 9-13 on page 463.3. To protect sensitive disk and KVM data during your session, click the Encrypt disk andKVM data during transmission check box before starting Remote Control.
