425. Initial Start-up5.1 Selecting The ConfigurationInitial Start UpBefore trying to operate the drive it is necessary to establish the correct mode ofoperation. The TORQMAX F5 drive is capable of driving different types of motorsboth open and closed loop. Therefore prior to operation, the type of motor andmode of operation (open or closed loop) must be established. Note: in mostcases the elevator control manufacturer will make the adjustment of theconfiguration and control mode, sections 6.1,6.2,6.3, and therefore it isnot necessary to make these adjustments in the field. In this case simplyverify parameter LF.4 matches the required configuration number listedbelow.The available motors and modes or configurations are listed below. From thislist it is possible to select the correct configuration setting of the TORQMAXDrive.Motor Open Closed ConfigurationType Loop LoopNumber / Display CodeInduction Geared x - 0 / IOPEnInduction Geared - x 1 / ICLSdInduction Gearless - x 2 / I9LSSPM Synchronous Geared - x 3 / PCLSdPM Synchronous Gearless - x 4 / P9LSSWith the configuration number noted, go to parameter US.10 on the keypad ofthe drive and press “Function.” Select the configuration number indicated andpress “Enter.”Once the configuration is selected, it is now necessary to load the configurationfile. This adjusts the drive for the correct motor type and establishes the correctinternal settings.To load the configuration go to parameter US.04, set the display to a value of “1”and press enter. The display will show Pro9 and the configuration file will beloaded. The display will confirm whether the load was successful. If the displayultimately changes to parameter LF.99 and shows noP, the load was successful.If the file is not completely loaded, the display will show bdPAS for bad operationand will remain at parameter US.4. In this case power cycle the drive and try toload the configuration again. Make sure that no inputs are active while trying toload the configuration. LF.82 should read 0. If still unsuccessful there may bean incompatibility between the operator and the drive. Contact the manufacturerfor further assistance.After loading, the configuration can be verified through parameter LF.4.
