Thekerf boards are factory adjusted so that the saw bladedoes not contact the kerf boards. Before use, adjust thekerf boards as follows:First, remove the battery cartridge. Loosen all thescrews (2 each on left and right) securing the kerfboards. Re-tighten them only to the extent that the kerfboards can still be easily moved by hand. Lower thehandle fully and push in the stopper pin to lock the han-dle in the lowered position. Loosen two clamp screwswhich secure the slide poles. Pull the carriage towardyou fully. Adjust the kerf boards so that the kerf boardsjust contact the sides of the blade teeth. Tighten thefront screws (do not tighten firmly). Push the carriagetoward the guide fence fully and adjust the kerf boardsso that the kerf boards just contact the sides of bladeteeth. Tighten the rear screws (do not tighten firmly).After adjusting the kerf boards, release the stopperpin and raise the handle. Then tighten all the screwssecurely.NOTICE:• After setting the bevel angle ensure that thekerf boards are adjusted properly. Guide fenceThis tool is factory adjusted to provide the maximumcutting capacity for a 190 mm (7-1/2") saw blade.Remove the battery cartridge before any adjustment isattempted. When installing a new blade, always checkthe lower limit position of the blade and if necessary,adjust it as follows:First, remove the battery cartridge. Push the carriagetoward the guide fence fully and lower the handle com-pletely. Use the hex wrench to turn the adjusting bolt untilthe periphery of the blade extends slightly below the topsurface of the turn base at the point where the front faceof the guide fence meets the top surface of the turn base.With the battery cartridge removed, rotate the bladeby hand while holding the handle all the way down tobe sure that the blade does not contact any part of thelower base. Re-adjust slightly, if necessary.WARNING:• After installing a new blade and with thebattery cartridge removed, always be surethat the blade does not contact any part ofthe lower base when the handle is loweredcompletely. Stopper armThe lower limit position of the blade can be easilyadjusted with the stopper arm. To adjust it, move thestopper arm in the direction of the arrow as shown in thefigure. Adjust the adjusting screw so that the blade stopsat the desired position when lowering the handle fully.
