12 ENGLISHAdjusting the lever position1 2► 1. Lever 2. ScrewThe lever can be repositioned at every angle 30° whenthe lever does not provide full tightening.Loosen and remove the screw that secures the lever atthe rear of the tool. Remove the lever and install it againso that it is slightly above the level. Secure the leverwith the screw firmly.Switch actionWARNING: Before installing the battery car-tridge on the tool, always check to see that theswitch trigger actuates properly and returns tothe "OFF" position when released. Operating a toolwith a switch that does not actuate properly can leadto loss of control and serious personal injury.WARNING: Do not use a lock with a shank orcable any smaller than 6.35 mm (1/4") in diameter.A smaller shank or cable may not properly lock thetool in the off position and unintentional operationmay occur resulting in serious personal injury.WARNING: NEVER use tool without a fully oper-ative switch trigger. Any tool with an inoperative switchis HIGHLY DANGEROUS and must be repaired beforefurther usage or serious personal injury may occur.WARNING: For your safety, this tool is equippedwith a lock-off button which prevents the tool fromunintended starting. NEVER use the tool if it runswhen you simply pull the switch trigger withoutpressing the lock-off button. A switch in need ofrepair may result in unintentional operation and seri-ous personal injury. Return tool to a Makita servicecenter for proper repairs BEFORE further usage.WARNING: NEVER defeat the lock-off buttonby taping down or some other means. A switch witha negated lock-off button may result in unintentionaloperation and serious personal injury.NOTICE: Do not pull the switch trigger hardwithout pressing in the lock-off button. This cancause switch breakage.To prevent the switch trigger from being accidentally pulled, a lock-off button is provided. To start the tool, press in the lock-off buttonand pull the switch trigger. If thetool consistently fails to quickly stop the blade after theswitch trigger is released, have the tool serviced at aMakita service center.CAUTION:• The blade brake system is not a substitutefor the blade guard. An unguarded blademay result in serious personal injury.ASSEMBLYWARNING:• Always be sure that the tool is switched offand the battery cartridge is removed beforeworking on the tool. Failure to switch off andremove the battery cartridge may result in seri-ous personal injury.Hex wrench storage1 2► 1. Wrench holder 2. Hex wrenchThe hex wrench is stored as shown in the figure. Whenthe hex wrench is needed it can be pulled out of thewrench holder. After using the hex wrench it can bestored by returning it to the wrench holder.
