15 ENGLISHPosition the vise arm according to the thickness andshape of the workpiece and secure the vise arm bytightening the screw. If the screw to secure the vise armcontacts the guide fence, install the screw on the oppo-site side of vise arm. Make sure that no part of the toolcontacts the vise when lowering the handle fully andpulling or pushing the carriage all the way. If some partcontacts the vise, re-position the vise.Press the workpiece flat against the guide fence and theturn base. Position the workpiece at the desired cuttingposition and secure it firmly by tightening the vise knob.WARNING:• The workpiece must be secured firmlyagainst the turn base and guide fence withthe vise during all operations. If the workpieceis not properly secured against the fence thematerial may move during the cutting operationcausing possible damage to the blade, causingthe material to be thrown and loss of controlresulting in serious personal injury.Horizontal vise (optional accessory)1234► 1. Vise knob 2. Projection 3. Vise shaft 4. BaseThe horizontal vise can be installed on the left side ofthe base. By turning the vise knob counterclockwise,the screw is released and the vise shaft can be movedrapidly in and out. By turning the vise knob clockwise,the screw remains secured. To grip the workpiece,turn the vise knob gently clockwise until the projectionreaches its topmost position, then fasten securely.If the vise knob is forced in or pulled out while beingturned clockwise, the projection may stop at an angle.In this case, turn the vise knob back counterclockwiseuntil the screw is released, before turning again gentlyclockwise.The maximum width of the workpiece which can besecured by the horizontal vise is 120 mm (4-3/4").WARNING:• Grip the workpiece only when the projectionis at the topmost position. Failure to do somay result in insufficient securing of the work-piece. This could cause the workpiece to bethrown, cause damage to the blade or cause theloss of control, which can result in PERSONALINJURY.Holders and holder assembly(optional accessories)CAUTION: For the tool equipped with the hold-ers and the holder assemblies as standard acces-sories, this type of use is not permitted due to thecountry regulations.1 2► 1. Holder 2. Holder assemblyThe holders and the holder assembly can be installedon either side as a convenient means of supportingworkpieces horizontally. Install them as shown in thefigure. Then tighten the screws firmly to secure theholders and the holder assembly.When cutting long workpieces, use the holder-rodassembly (optional accessory). Rod 12WARNING:• Always support a long workpiece so it islevel with the top surface of the turn base foran accurate cut and to prevent dangerousloss of tool control. Proper workpiece supportwill help avoid blade pinch and possible kick-back which may result in serious personal injury.
