13 ENGLISHInstalling or removing saw blade1► 1. Stopper pinWARNING:• Always be sure that the tool is switched offand the battery cartridge is removed beforeinstalling or removing the blade. Accidentalstart up of the tool may result in serious per-sonal injury.CAUTION:• Use only the Makita hex wrench provided toinstall or remove the blade. Failure to do so mayresult in overtightening or insufficient tighteningof the hex socket bolt. This could cause aninjury.Lock the handle in the raised position by pushing in thestopper pin.To remove the blade, use the hex wrench to loosen thehex socket bolt holding the center cover by turning itcounterclockwise. Safety coverPress the shaft lock to lock the spindle and use the hexwrench to loosen the hex socket bolt clockwise. Thenremove the hex socket bolt, outer flange and blade.12345► 1. Shaft lock 2. Arrow 3. Blade case 4. Hex wrench5. Hex socket boltNOTE:• If the inner flange is removed be sure to installit on the spindle with its protrusion facing awayfrom the blade. If the flange is installed incor-rectly the flange will rub against the machine.To install the blade, mount it carefully onto the spindle,making sure that the direction of the arrow on the sur-face of the blade matches the direction of the arrow onthe blade case. Install the outer flange and hex socketbolt, and then use the hex wrench to tighten the hexsocket bolt (left-handed) securely counterclockwisewhile pressing the shaft lock.1 2 34 5► 1.
