DSP OPTIONSThe following signal processing parameters can be setup under the DSP(Digital Signal Processing) Options menu.IMPORTANT NOTICEThe T 187 is an AV Surround Sound Preamplifier and therefore hasno speakers. The mention of “Speaker(s)” in this manual refers to thespeakers of your external amplifier as interfaced with the T 187.LIP SYNC DELAYDSP Options has the feature ‘Lip Sync Delay’ whose function is to match anydelay that may occur in the picture relative to the audio.By varying ‘Lip Sync Delay’ from 0ms to 120ms, one can delay the audiooutput in order to synchronize it with the video image.AUDYSSEY MultEQAudyssey MultEQ becomes available among the DSP options only aftersuccessfully completing Audyssey Auto Calibration (accessible throughthe Setup Menu). Refer also to Audyssey Auto Calibration segment of theSpeaker Setup under Operation – Using the T 187 – Setup Menu.Audyssey MultEQ can be set to the following levelsAudyssey: Audyssey developed target curve.Flat: This setting is appropriate for very small or highly treated roomsin which the listener is seated quite close to the loudspeakers. MultEQfilters are used in the same way as the Audyssey curve, but it does notapply a high frequency roll-off.NAD: Ideal “in room” response developed by NAD engineers along withAudyssey Engineers.Off: MultEQ filters are not used or no measurement process at all.NOTESt i"6%:44&:wBOEBMJUHSFFOCPYJDPOBSFJMMVNJOBUFEBUUIF7'%JG/"% "VEZTTFZPS'MBUJTTFMFDUFE*Gi0òwJTTFMFDUFE i"6%:44&:wBOEUIFgreen box icon will not be illuminated.t *G/"% "VEZTTFZPS'MBUJTTFMFDUFEBOEDIBOHFTBSFEPOFBUUIFi5POFControls”, “Speaker Configuration”, “Speaker Levels” and “Speaker%JTUBODFwTFUUJOHT i"6%:44&:wBOEBMJUSFECPYJDPOBSFJMMVNJOBUFEat the VFD. By carefully combining information from incoming source levelswith actual output sound levels in the room, Audyssey Dynamic EQ deliversunprecedented sound reproduction at all volume levels.Audyssey Dynamic EQ selects the correct frequency response and surroundvolume levels moment-by-moment. The resulting bass response, octave-to-octave balance and surround impression remained the same despitechanges in volume.Audyssey Dynamic EQ is designed to work in conjunction with AudysseyMultEQ. Dynamic EQ determines the proper loudness compensation basedon the sound pressure level measurements MultEQ provides. AudysseyDynamic EQ working in tandem with Audyssey MultEQ provides the rightlistening conditions for every listener at any volume level. On: Activate Audyssey Dynamic EQ function.Off: Defeat Audyssey Dynamic EQ function.NOTE "VEZTTFZ%ZOBNJD&2BOE"VEZTTFZ%ZOBNJD7PMVNF TFFCFMPX DBOCFEJSFDUMZTFMFDUFEPSDIBOHFEVTJOH)53T"6%:44&:CVUUPOXJUI%&7*$&4&-&$503TFUUP".1NPEF5PHHMF"6%:44&:CVUUPOUPTFMFDUi%ZO&2wPSi%ZO7PMwBOEUIFOVTFUIF<D/F] to select throughUIFJSSFTQFDUJWFPQUJPOT1SFTT"6%:44&:BHBJOUPTBWFUIFTFUUJOHBOEat the same time move on to the next option or exit the menu settingaltogether.AUDYSSEY DYNAMIC VOLUMEAudyssey Dynamic Volume delivers consistent volume playback levels, anticipating sudden spikes and dips in volume and compensating for themin real time. Audyssey Dynamic Volume monitors the volume of programmaterial moment-by-moment, maintaining the desired listening level for allcontent while optimizing the dynamic range to preserve the impact.Audyssey Dynamic Volume includes Audyssey Dynamic EQ, whichcompensates for deteriorating sound quality as volume is decreasedby taking into account human perception and room acoustics. Thesetwo technologies enable the full frequency response of the source at itsoriginal level to be reproduced at any listening level. Even at lower listeningvolumes, Dynamic Volume ensures that the richness and dynamics of theresponse are maintained.Audyssey Dynamic Volume can be set to the following levelsLight: Provide the least adjustment to the loudest or softest sound level.Medium: Setting that prevents loud and soft sound from being muchlouder than their respective average sound levels.Heavy: Affect volume the most by causing all sound to be of equalloudness.NOTE "VEZTTFZ%ZOBNJD&2NVTUCFTFUUPi0OwUPBDUJWBUF"VEZTTFZ%ZOBNJD7PMVNF*G"VEZTTFZ%ZOBNJD&2JTTFUi0òw "VEZTTFZ%ZOBNJD7PMVNFwill also remain “Off”.IMPORTANT NOTICEIf Audyssey Auto Calibration is not set up, the relative balance of your system’sloudspeakers has to be manually adjusted (with the aid of a SPL meter) for"VEZTTFZ%ZOBNJD7PMVNFBOE"VEZTTFZ%ZOBNJD&2UPCFFòFDUJWF*GUIFspeakers are not properly calibrated, the corresponding Audyssey Dynamic7PMVNFBOE"VEZTTFZ%ZOBNJD&2SFTQPOTFTDPVMECFEJTUPSUFE3FGFSBMTPUPUIFJUFNBCPVUi64*/(41-.&5&3wJOUIF41&",&3-&7&-4TFDUJPOCFMPXOffset: Adding a Volume Offset will have the effect of reducing theamount of boost applied by Dynamic EQ, for any given volume setting. Asa consequence, the amount of overall digital attenuation required is alsoreduced. For example, with the Offset set to 10dB, and a volume setting of-30dB, the loudness curve selected will be for a volume level of -20dB.The offset level can be set from 0dB to 15dB.OPERATIONUSING THE T 187 – MAIN MENU13ENGLISHFRANÇAISESPAÑOLITALIANODEUTSCHNEDERLANDSSVENSKAРУССКИЙ
