SETUP MENUThe Setup Menu allows one to customize the operation of the T 187 to the ancillaryequipment used in one’s specific AV system. Unless your system exactly matchesthe factory defaults as shown in the accompanying Quick Start Guide, you will needto use the setup menu to configure the inputs of the T 187.At Setup Menu, the following are configurable – Control/HDMI Setup,Source Setup, Speaker Setup, Zone Setup, Trigger Setup, Listening ModeSetup, Display Setup and A/V Presets. To access and navigate through Setup Menu and its sub-menu selections, please refer to and follow the directions stated in the sections ‘Display theOSD’ and ‘Navigating the OSD and Making Changes.’CONTROL/HDMI SETUPThe T 187 supports HDMI Control (CEC) and Audio Return Channel (ARC)functions. Both functions are possible if external devices that also supportboth features are interconnected to the T 187 via HDMI connection.ETHERNET/CEC IN STANDBYOn: Enables HDMI Control (CEC) feature.Off: T 187 stops responding and sending any CEC messages. CECfeature is effectively defeated.HDMI CONTROL (CEC)Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is a set of commands that utilizesHDMI’s two- way communication to allow for single remote control of anyCEC-enabled devices connected with HDMI. A CEC command will triggerthe necessary commands over HDMI for an entire system to auto-configureitself to respond to the command. When devices that support HDMI Control (CEC) are connected, thefollowing modes of operation can be executed via the T 187 or the externaldevice using any of the device’s remote control.Off: Applies to all CEC options below. At “Off” setting, particular CECfeature is defeated.Power: At “On” setting, the T 187 will automatically go to standby modeif it receives a CEC standby command. On the other hand, if the T 187receives a CEC power up command, the T 187 will correspondinglyswitch ON from standby mode.Source Switch: At “On” setting, the T 187 will automatically switchsources if another CEC device requests a Source change. For example, if PLAY is pressed on a BD Player with CEC, the T 187and TV with CEC will automatically switch to their respective inputconnections – the T 187 switching to the HDMI input where the BDPlayer is connected while the TV will switch to its input where theT 187’s HDMI MONITOR OUT is connected. This completes the auto-configuration – the BD Player is automatically played back using theT 187 and TV.Audio System: At “On” setting, the T 187 will broadcast a CEC messageindicating it is an active audio system. A CEC compatible TV will usuallymute its audio output when this happens. When this option is enabled, the T 187 will also respond to CEC volume and mute commands. Forexample, a CEC TV may forward the volume commands from its remoteto the T 187.ARC Mode: Audio Return Channel (ARC) enables an ARC-enabled TVto send audio data “upstream” to T 187.This option has three choices: Off, Auto or Source Setup.Auto: When set to Auto, the T 187 will automatically attempt anARC audio connection to the TV whenever the TV announces overCEC that it has become the active source. If an ARC connection canbe established, the T 187 will output the ARC audio signal no matterwhat source is selected on the T 187 and will show “HDMI ARC” onthe VFD. The Auto option tends to work best when all your devicessupport CEC and the Source Switch option is set to On.Source Setup: When set to Source Setup, you can select “ARC” forthe digital audio input in the source setup screen. When you selecta source on the T 187 which is set for ARC, the T 187 will attemptto initiate an ARC connection with the TV. When using this option, you would probably also want to make sure Source Switch is offotherwise other CEC devices may keep changing the T 187 sourcewhen you want it to remain on the ARC source.IMPORTANT NOTES· “Audio System” must be set to “On” for “ARC mode” to manifest as anoption.· Audio and video will continuously stream from the HDMI source withCEC to the TV with CEC even if the T 187 is at standby mode.OPERATIONUSING THE T 187 – SETUP MENU15ENGLISHFRANÇAISESPAÑOLITALIANODEUTSCHNEDERLANDSSVENSKAРУССКИЙ
