Overview of Neoware Image ManagerNeoware Image Manager Licenses 15• There is no theoretical limitation to the number of clients that canbe connected to a single Neoware Image Manager server, as longas there are enough bandwidth and hard disk resources on thenetwork and server to fulfill all the client requests in an accept-able time.• Neoware Image Manager has little effect on memory or perfor-mance requirements of software applications running on the cli-ents. The number of applications that can be run at the same timeon the same client depends on the client CPU and available mem-ory.Neoware Image Manager LicensesNeoware Image Manager license files are used for the server moduleto determine how many clients it can serve and the expiration date ofthe system if any. Each license file also embeds the servers’ MACaddresses that are activated so that each license file is usable by onlyone set of servers. Please note that you cannot change the server MAC address pro-grammatically (in drivers, NIC EEPROM etc.). If you do so, theNeoware Image Manager system will fail to function properly. Youcannot legally use the Neoware Image Manager system with a serverwhere the MAC address has been changed or spoofed (in drivers,NIC EEPROM etc.)There are two types of license files: Server License and Client Pack-age License. All license files must be located in the same directorywhere the server module (nvdd.exe or nvdd) is located. The totalnumber of clients that can be served by a single server is the sum ofall the number of clients embedded in the license files.License files are available when you purchase the Neoware ImageManager system or when you order an evaluation copy.
