Creating a Client Image40 Using Client BuilderUsing Client BuilderThe following procedure assumes that you have already installed theClient components of the Neoware Image Manager on the hard diskdrive that will be used to create the client image. You must belogged on as a user with administrator privileges.1 Before running Client Builder you must always make sure theNVDD server module is running on the Image Manager server,and is serving a non-bootable virtual disk to the client runningClient Builder. A non-bootable virtual disk called SmallDisk issupplied with Neoware Image Manager.2 To launch the NVDD server module so that it serves the non-bootable virtual disk (e.g. SmallDisk) to all the clients, navigateto the directory containing NVDD then type one of the follow-ing at the command prompt:Windows system: nvdd -c nvdd.smalldisk.vol.confLinux/FreeBSD system: . /nvdd -c nvdd.smalldisk.vol.conf3 Close all applications on the client computer.4 (Optional but recommended) Defragment the hard disk partitionfrom which the image will be created using the Defrag utility.Note that you can defragment the virtual disk drive after it hasbeen created by Client Builder.5 Run Client Builder, either by launching the executable fileNeowareIMClientBuilder.exe, or from the Start menu byselecting Programs/Neoware/Image_Manager_4.6/ClientBuilder.
