347Neoware Image Manager User ManualAPPENDIX I NVDD TemporaryFilesThis appendix describes issues relating to temporary files createdby the nvdd process. The NVDD Configuration FileWhen nvdd is launched it creates a temporary copy of the configu-ration file in the directory specified by the client_files_dirparameter in the nvdd configuration file, and uses this copy to workwith. The temporary configuration file copy has the same name asthe original configuration file but has the prefix current. For example, if nvdd is launched with the following parameters:nvdd –c nvdd.disk0.vol.confit will create the file namedcurrent.nvdd.disk0.vol.confIn what follows, we will assume that nvdd was launched to use thenvdd.conf configuration, and that the current configuration file isnamed current.nvdd.conf.Any changes made to the configuration, using the remote Consolefor example, will be applied to the current.nvdd.conf file. Whennvdd is shut down, the changes stored in current.nvdd.conf willbe merged into the original configuration file and (assuming themerge was successful) the current.nvdd.conf file will bedeleted.
