23Service Manual – SC6000 04 - Control SystemControl PanelThe control panel (display) is an integral component withthe Main Machine Controller circuit board The controlpanel contains an LCD display, SmartKey reader for thekeyswitch, and a series of membrane switches for operatorcontrolSmartKey Reader (A): The key reader provides a serialconnection between the SmartKey and the main machinecontroller The controller checks the serial number of thekey to determine if it is authorized to enable the machine’soperationDifferent keys (operator-blue versus supervisor-yellow) havedifferent levels of access to the control system Operatorkeys can be authorized/de-authorized for the machine,so that each operator may have his or her own uniquelyidentified key.Power Switch (B): When a key is in the key reader, pressing the power button will boot up the controller andturn the machine on Pressing and holding the button for atleast 1/2 second will turn the machine offDisplay (C): The LCD display provides feedback to the operatorwith various text messages and graphic icons The main screenshows scrub pressure, solution flow, detergent flow, speed, machinehours, battery charge level, solution tank level, and any fault codesThe display will change as necessary to convey the appropriateinformationInformation (D) and Menu Navigation (E): Pressing the information switch enters or exits the systemmenus The navigation switches provide navigation and entry for the menus, and will be discussed in greaterdetail in “Programming Menu Outline” on page 27One-Touch Scrub (F): When the One-Touch Scrub is selected, the brushes and squeegee are lowered to thefloor, and the solution solenoid is briefly activated to pre-wet the brushes. The scrub, solution, vacuum anddetergent (EcoFlex models) systems are all enabled and will start when the Drive Pedal is activatedSolution Switch (G): The solution switch enables or disables the solution solenoid However, the solutionsolenoid isn’t energized unless the scrub system is engaged and the machine is in motionVacuum Switch (H): The vacuum switch turns the vacuum on and off, and automatically lowers or raisesthe squeegee Because a hand operated vacuum wand is available as an option, the vacuum will operate evenwhen the operator is not in the seat and the seat switch is closedSpeed Limit Switch (I): The speed limit switch sets the maximum speed of the machine to whatever thecurrent speed is in scrub mode to reduce driver fatigue. Allows full pedal deflection at the set speed.Detergent Switch (J): The detergent switch enables or disables the optional detergent pumps However, the detergent pumps aren’t energized unless the solution system is also active, and the machine is in motionHeadlight Switch (K): The headlight switch controls the optional headlights on the front of the machineBrush Install Switch (L): The brush install switch lowers the deck and spins the brush motors briefly toaid in the installation of the brushesDust Guard Switch (M): The side sweep switch controls the optional side sweep broom and optional dustcontrol pump and solenoid However, the side sweep system won’t be active unless the broom is lowered(proximity sensor closed) and the scrub system is activeABEDCFGJMIHK L
