59Service Manual – SC6000 20 - Wheel System, TractionDrive TireThe drive tire consists of the urethane tire and the metal rim that it is attached to The drive tire may bereplaced without removing the wheel motor assembly from the machine Pressing the rim off the wheelmotor requires the tire pulling kit (56422174)WARNING: This procedure requires working on an elevated machine. Make sure all safetyprecautions are in place before beginning this procedure. Use appropriate liftingpoints, jack stands, and wheel chocks. Make sure to disconnect the main batteryconnector under the operator’s seat.1 To reduce the weight of the machine, drain both the recovery and solution tanks2 Chock both rear wheelsto prevent the machinefrom moving Once thefront wheel is off theground, there will be nomachine brake3 Disconnect the mainbattery connector underthe operator’s seat4 To better expose theforward lifting points,you may choose toremove one or bothScrub Deck Doors described on page 965 Lift the machine until the drive wheel is slightly off the ground, and then place jack stands under thelifting points for safetyNote: The drive hub screws may contain thread locking compound. The best method for releasinglocking compound is to apply mild heat to the screws. The compound begins to loosen up atjust over 150°F (65°C). If you need to apply heat, make sure to remove the plastic cover.6 If you need to apply heat, remove the hub cover by gently prying out on the 3 release tabs and pullingthe cover away from the hub7 As necessary, apply a mild heat to the 4 screws that secure the hub (A) to the drive disk (F) It doesn’ttake a lot of heat nor high temperature The goal is just to warm the threads to around 150°F (65°C) tosoften the thread locking compoundLift PointsManual BrakeReleaseHubCoverReleaseTabA
