17Provisioning Client User GuideWelcomeThe Provisioning Client is a Web-based Graphical User Interface thatadministrators use to complete administrative tasks, for example, provisioningdomains, IP Client Managers (IPCM), and IPCM clusters.OverviewBased on the system configuration, users access the Provisioning Client fromanywhere if the URL is publicly accessible; or they access it only within aparticular network if the IP address or URL is not externally accessible. TheProvisioning Client is a secure transaction Client. For more information, seeProvisioning Manager Fundamentals (NN42020-111).In addition to the Provisioning Client, the following mechanisms are used toprovision the Multimedia Communication Server system:Note: The provisioning abilities visible to administrators in theProvisioning Client GUI depends on the level of authority assigned totheir account.Provisioning mechanism DescriptionBulk Provisioning Tool(BPT)A useful tool for one-time operations for adding ormodifying a large number of subscribers at a single time. Itis also a useful tool to experiment with OPI and see anOPI client in action. This tool is not intended for day to dayoperations. If such a tool is necessary outside of theexisting Provisioning Client or Personal Agent, then aclient application must be developed using OPI.
