188NN42020-105 MCS 5100 Release 4.0 Standard 01.06 November 2007Locations are provisioned at the parent domain level of the system. You canconstruct locations in a tree-like structure that represents the geography of theservice area. The location tree hierarchy makes for a more logical representationof location and provides an intuitive structure for navigation (especially for usersusing the MCS access clients).Adding a locationThe Add Location links visible under each location permit a new child location(called a leaf) to be defined under that location (turning the original location into abranch if it is not already a branch). Branch locations are locations that containother locations (for example, the location Richardson is a branch). Leaf locationsdo not contain other locations (for example, the location NGD is a leaf). Use ofthe Add Location link to define a multitiered structure results in the creation of thelocation hierarchy. This tree-like structure makes it easier for users to select alocation when registering on an IP Phone, Multimedia PC Client, or MultimediaOffice Client. To add a location1 Under the domain or subdomain where you want to define a location, selectLocation Services.
