97Provisioning Client User GuideSchema ConfigurationSelect Domains > DomainName > LDAP Syncing > Schema Configuration toconfigure the following schema that the MCP system uses from the LDAP serverwhen creating new users:• Distinguished Name Info—A Distinguished Name (DN) is used to distinguishone entry in an LDAP database from another as in the following example ofan entry whose userid is joeb:dn: uid=joeb, ou=Internal,ou=People,o=ABCThe uid field is part of the RDN for this particular entry. The uid field mustbe different for every user in the domain (see the figure that follows).Configuring a domain on the MCP system creates the first portion of the DN,o=domainname. In the figure that follows, notice the LDAP DistinguishedName o=domainname is present by default. MCP administrators have theability to refine their searches by including other attributes, such asorganizational unit (ou). For instance, ou=people and ou=external can beincluded in the dn to further refine the entries in the LDAP database that isused to create MCP users. This limits the syncing to the dotted lined portionof the LDAP database. The LDAP Distinguished Name field now containsthese additional parameters, separated by spaces:o=domainname ou=people ou=internal
