Configuring your machine... > 45Print Setup(cont.)Print Menu(cont.)Print Setup(cont.)Mono-Print Speed:Auto Speed, Mono34PPM, Mixed Speed,Color SpeedAuto Speed: If the first page of aprint job is black and white, themachine runs at 34ppm (pages perminute). When a colour page isdetected the machine slows downto 26ppm for the rest of the job.Mono 34PPM: This settingoperates in the same way as autospeed, except that the machineruns at 34ppm until a colour pageis detected. To achieve this speedthe machine requires an additional10-20 seconds to warm up and 30-60 seconds to cool down whenswitching to 26ppm for colourpages. This setting is thereforemost appropriate when themajority of print jobs are entirelyblack and white.Mixed Speed: The machineautomatically switches between26ppm for each colour page and34ppm for each black and whitepage. When black and white pagesare printed, the 3 colour drumsare automatically lifted tomaximize their working life. Thisoperation imposes a delay eachtime the machine switchesbetween colour and black andwhite printing. However, the 30-60second cool down delay describedfor Mono 34ppm is avoided bylimiting the mono speed to 26ppm.This setting may be preferred formostly black and white printingwith some colour pages, or wheremost print jobs are entirely colouror entirely black and white.Color Speed: The machine runsat 26ppm for all print jobs. Thissetting is most appropriate whenthe majority of print jobs are incolour.Orientation:Portrait, LandscapeSelects default page orientationbetween portrait (tall) andlandscape (wide). - (PCL, IBMPPR& EPSON FX only)Lines per Page:005~064~128 RowSets the number of lines of textper page when raw text is receivedfrom systems other than Windows. The default for A4 portrait is 65,and for Letter is 60. - (PCL only)Edit Size:Cassette Size, A3,A4, A4LEF, A5, A6,B4, B5, B5LEF, Legal14, Legal 13.5, Legal13, Letter, LetterLEF,Executive, Custom,COM-10, DL, C5, C4Sets the size of the printable pagearea to match the size of the paperin use.
