However, sometimes it is more useful to be able tosimply load your document into your fax machine and set it to wait for theanother fax machine to call and collect the document. This is called settingyour fax machine to be polled, or polling transmission. Calling another faxmachine to receive documents someone else has loaded into their faxmachine is called polling reception.There are two standards for polling. Standard polling is to an old standardthat is used by many, but not all manufacturers and ITU selective polling,which is the latest standard. Your fax machine supports both standards.ITU selective polling allows you to retrieve documents from individualmailboxes or ITU sub-addresses from a fax machine that meets thestandard for ITU selective polling.Polling transmission1.
