Basic Operations 39Basic OperationsPreparing Documents- Try to use good quality documents for your transmissions. Docu-ments that are typed or created in felt-tip black ink on white (or light)paper work best.- Do not send documents which are not rectangular.- Never use documents that have wet or sticky surfaces, wrinkles,staples or paper clips. However, your MFP machine can transmitdocuments that have been subject to normal wear, such as docu-ments with staple holes, letter folds and minor corner folds.- If you are not sure how a document will fax, try making a copy firston your MFP machine (load the document face down and press theCOPY key).- If your documents are bent, creased or torn, make a copy on aphotocopier and send the copy instead. You can also use a photo-copier to enlarge or reduce documents before sending.Document SizeAll documents must have a minimum width of 148 mm (5.8") and aminimum length of 128 mm (5"). Documents cannot be wider than 216mm (8.5") or longer than 356 mm (14").Multiple Page DocumentsYour MFP machine can scan paper with a base weight between 16pounds (60 g/m2 ) and 28 pounds (105 g/m 2 ). You can load up to 20sheets of standard 20-pound paper (like photocopier paper) at the sametime. If you use a heavier paper, you can load up to 15 sheets. For veryheavy paper, load and send pages sheet-by-sheet.When loading multiple-page documents, do not load paper which isthinner than 0.08 mm or thicker than 0.13 mm. For documents, do notload paper which is thinner than 0.06 mm or thicker than 0.15 mm.
