228 For Long and Trouble-Free Operation: Handling P2 Card RecordingHandling P2 Card RecordingThe P2 card is a semiconductor memory card designed for the P2HD series, Panasonic’s line of professional video andbroadcast equipment.■ Since the P2 format records data as files, it is ideallysuited for PC processing. Video and audio are recordedin the MXF file format while the metadata is stored in thefolders with the configuration shown at right.If any of this data is changed or lost, it will not berecognized as P2 data or the P2 card may no longer bepossible to use in a P2 device.■ In order to prevent any of the information from being lost when transferring the data on a P2 card to a PC or writing the datastored in a PC onto a P2 card, be absolutely sure to download the dedicated software, “P2 viewer” or “P2 contentmanagement software” from the following web site and use it for this purpose.(For supporting OS, refer to the following web site as well.)http://pro-av.panasonic.net/■ Follow the steps below to use general IT tools such as Microsoft Windows Explorer or Apple Finder to transfer the data to aPC.
