46 Introduction: Recording From a Variable Frame-Rate CameraRecording From a Variable Frame-Rate CameraCombined with a variable frame-rate camera (VariCam: AJ-HDC27 series), the unit makes it possible to record HD SDI (720/23.98p over 59.94p) output from the camera as DVCPRO HD orAVC-Intra 720/23.98p native recording.1 Connect the camera HD SDI (720/23.98p over59.94p) output to the SDI IN connector and press theVIDEO IN (SHIFT + EDIT MODE) / AUDIO IN (SHIFT+ VIDEO) button to select HD SDI.2 Make the following setup menu settings.◆ NOTE:• To record 720/24p over 60p output from a variable frame-ratecamera, set menu No. 25 (SYSTEM FREQ) to 60-24. No outputis made to a composite monitor video in this mode.3 While confirming the camera HD SDI output video,press the REC button and PLAY buttonsimultaneously.Recording starts.◆ NOTE:• Set setup menu No. 155 (AUTO REC) to TYPE1 and press theREMOTE button to turn the button on. The unit will then automaticallystart and stop recording as the REC and STOP buttons are pressedon the camera.• SDI is output in the 1080/23.98 PsF video format.• No time code can be input to the TIME CODE IN connector.• The SDI output is delayed relative to LCD monitor and monitor videooutput.
