Basic39VQT0W82∫ Manual Exposure Assistance• The manual exposure assistance is anapproximation. We recommend checkingthe pictures using Auto Review.∫ About [B] (Bulb)If you set the shutter speed to [B], theshutter stays open while the shutter buttonis pressed fully (up to about 8 minutes).The shutter closes if you release theshutter button.Use this when you want to keep the shutteropen for a long time to take pictures offireworks, a night scene etc.• If you set the shutter speed to [B], [ ]is displayed on the Viewfinder and [B] isdisplayed on the LCD monitor.• When you take pictures with the shutterspeed set to [B], use a sufficiently chargedbattery. (P19)• We recommend using a tripod or theremote shutter (DMW-RSL1; optional)when you take pictures with the shutterspeed set to [B]. Refer to P107 forinformation about the remote shutter.• When you take pictures with the shutterspeed set to [B], noise may becomevisible. To avoid picture noise, werecommend setting [LONG SHUTTERNR] in the [CUSTOM] menu to [ON]before taking pictures. (P87)• The manual exposure assistance does notappear.• If you press the shutter button fully whenthe shutter speed is slow, the shutterspeed on the screen counts down.• We recommend using a tripod when theshutter speed is slow.• If the exposure is not adequate, theaperture value and the shutter speed turnred when the shutter button is pressedhalfway. The aperture value and theshutter speed blink on the Viewfinder.(They do not blink when the flash isactivated.)• You cannot set the following items inmanual exposure.– AUTO [ ], AUTO/Red-eyereduction [ ], Slow sync.
