Connecting to other equipment98VQT0W82Connecting to other equipmentConnecting to a PCYou can acquire recorded pictures to a PCby connecting the camera and the PC.The software [LUMIX Simple Viewer] or[PHOTOfunSTUDIO-viewer-](for Windows ®) on the CD-ROM (supplied)allows you to easily acquire picturesrecorded with the camera to a PC, printthem and send them by e-mail.If you use “Windows 98/98SE”, installthe USB driver and then connect it tothe computer.For information about installing [LUMIXSimple Viewer] or[PHOTOfunSTUDIO-viewer-] etc., refer tothe separate operating instructions for PCconnection.A: USB connection cable (supplied)B: AC adaptor (supplied)C: This message appears during datatransfer.• Use a sufficiently charged battery (P19) orthe AC adaptor.• Turn the camera off and then insert orremove the cable for the AC adaptor.1 Turn on the camera and the PC.2 Connect the camera to a PC viathe USB connection cable(supplied).• Align the [1] mark on the USBconnection cable and the [ ] markon the terminal of the adaptor whenconnecting.• Hold the USB connection cable at Dand insert straight in or take straightout. (If you forcibly insert the USBconnection cable at a slant or upsidedown you can deform the connectionterminals and damage the camera orthe connected equipment.)3 Press 3 to select [PC] and thenpress [MENU/SET].• If you set [USB MODE] in the [SETUP]menu to [PC] in advance, it is notnecessary to set this every time youconnect to a PC. (P29)• If you set [USB MODE] to[PictBridge (PTP)] and then connect thecamera to the PC, messages mayappear on the screen of the PC.Select [CANCEL] to close the messagesand disconnect the camera from the PC.Set [USB MODE] to [PC] again.[Windows]The drive appears in the [My Computer]folder.• If you are connecting the camera to a PCfor the first time, the required driver isinstalled automatically so that the cameracan be recognized by “Windows Plug andPlay”.
