Advanced56VQT0X92Taking Close-upPicturesThis mode allows you to take close-uppictures of the subject, e.g. When takingpictures of flowers. You can take pictures approaching thesubject at a distance up to 5 cm (0.16 feet)from the lens by rotating the zoom ringupmost to Wide (1M).1 Set the focus switch to[AF MACRO].w Focus range• We recommend using a tripod and theself-timer (P51) with AF macro.• When a subject is close to the camera, theeffective focus range (depth of field) issignificantly narrowed. Therefore, if thedistance between the camera and thesubject is changed after focusing on thesubject, it may become difficult to focus onit again.• If the distance between the camera andthe subject is beyond the focus range ofthe camera, the picture may not beproperly focused even if the focusindication lights.• AF Macro gives priority to a subject closeto the camera. Therefore, if the distancebetween the camera and the subject ismore than 1 m (3.3 feet) it takes longer tofocus on it with [AF MACRO] than [AF].• The available flash range is about 30 cm(0.98 feet) to 7.4 m (24.28 feet) (Wide).(When the ISO sensitivity is set to [AUTO].)• We recommend setting the flash toForced OFF [ ] when you take picturesat close range.• When you take pictures at close range, the resolution of the periphery of thepicture may decrease slightly. This is not amalfunction.AFFOCUSMFAFMACRO30 cm (0.98 feet)2 m (6.56 feet)[AF MACRO]TW5 cm (0.16 feet)2 m (6.56 feet)TW
