35■ Alarm Setup ALARM SETUPThe digital disk recorder accepts alarm signals suppliedfrom connected devices such as sensors or camera siteequipment. The recorder by itself also generates an alarmsignal when the preset motion detection is activated. Anyalarm signal starts recording with the preset recordingmode, field rate, and picture quality specified in the RECMODE menu described earlier. Alarm recording stopswhen the preset time has elapsed, the alarm [RESET] but-ton on the front panel is pressed, or the ALARM RESET INis supplied from the connected device. The recorder out-puts an alarm recovery signal from the rear panel.● Alarm Buzzer ALARM BUZZBuzzer beeping is enabled or disabled when an alarmoperates.1. Move the cursor to ALARM BUZZ with the [D] or [C]button.2. Rotate the JogDial to select ON or OFF.The default is ON.ON: Buzzer beeps while alarm is active.OFF: Buzzer does not beep.● Video Loss VIDEO LOSSVideo loss detection is enabled or disabled.1. Move the cursor to VIDEO LOSS with the [D] or [C]button.2. Rotate the JogDial to select ON or OFF.The default is ON.ON: Enables the recorder to detect video loss.OFF: Ignores video loss.● Monitor Mode MONITOR MODEThis setting specifies whether to allow the displayed pictureto change to the alarm activated channel when an alarmoperates.1. Move the cursor to MONITOR MODE with the [D] or[C] button.2. Select the parameter with the JogDial, and press theJogdial.The default is SPOT.SPOT: Switches to the picture of the channel that thealarm operates.OFF: Retains the previous display mode.● Video Motion Detection VMD SETUPA VMD or Video Motion Detector senses changes in thevideo signals within a preset area and supplies alarm out-put. When a change is detected, the recorder starts record-ing. The detection sensitivity and area are selected on thismenu.1. Move the cursor to VMD SETUPO with the [D] or [C]button, and press the JogDial. The VMD SETUP windowopens.2. Move the cursor to the desired line.3. Rotate the JogDial to select the desired parameter, andpress the JogDial.The default is OFF.LOW: Low sensitivity.MID: Medium sensitivity.HIGH: High sensitivity.OFF: Motion detection is disabled.The area setup window appears with an asterisk whenother than OFF is selected. The asterisk represents theupper-left or bottom-right of the detection area.
