39Camera menu items (continued)■Picture 1/3 screen*** Picture 1/3 ***Chroma Level 0White Balance Mode AWB AColor Temperature ----R Gain 0B Gain 0Pedestal 0ReturnChroma Level [–3 to +3]Set here is the color intensity (chroma level) of theimages.White Balance Mode[ATW, AWB A, AWB B, 3200K, 5600K, VAR]The white balance mode is selected here.Select the mode when the coloring is not natural becauseof the nature of the light source or other factors.If the white color serving as the reference can berecognized, subjects can be shot with natural coloring.ATW: This mode automatically corrects the white balance,even if the light source or color temperaturechanges.AWB A, AWB B:When AWB A or AWB B is selected and thewhite balance is executed, the adjustment resultsobtained are stored in the memory selected.When AWB A or AWB B is then selected, the whitebalance stored in the selected memory can berecalled.3200K:This white balance mode is ideal when a 3200Khalogen light is used as the light source.5600K:This white balance mode is ideal when 5600Ksunlight or fluorescent lighting is used as the lightsource.VAR: Specify a color temperature from 2400K to 9900K.Color Temperature [2400K to 9900K]Specify a color temperature from 2400K to 9900K (inincrements of about 100K).This is enabled when White Balance Mode is set to “VAR”.R Gain, B Gain [–30 to +30]When “AWB A”, “AWB B” or “VAR” is selected as the WhiteBalance Mode setting, the white balance can be finelyadjusted after automatic white balance (AWB) has beenperformed.● When automatic white balance (AWB) is executed,the R Gain and B Gain values are returned to “0”.● When “AWB A”, “AWB B” or “VAR” is selected asthe White Balance Mode setting, the R Gain andB Gain adjustment values can be stored in the threememories, A, B and VAR.● When new values are set, the previous values areerased.Use each of the memories for a different purpose inaccordance with the shooting conditions.● R Gain and B Gain adjustments cannot beperformed when White Balance Mode is set to“ATW”, “3200K”, or “5600K”.NotesPedestal [–10 to +10]This item is used to adjust the black level (adjust thepedestal) so that the dark parts of the images are easierto see.These parts become darker when a negative setting isselected and, conversely, lighter when a positive setting isselected.ReturnUse this to return to the previous menu.
