4 – Windows Server 2003 Driver InstallationInstalling the Driver4-2 PRELIMINARY IS0053302-00 7Qb. To download the driver from the QLogic web site, follow these steps:❑ Locate the driver you want on the QLogic web site (www.qlogic.com) andclick Download.❑ When prompted Would you like to open the file or save it to yourcomputer?, click the Save button. Specify a temporary location on thehard drive and download the driver.2. Insert a blank disk in drive A.3. Run the self-extracting file you just downloaded, specifying A:\ for Unzip ToFolder. Make sure the files listed in section 4.2 are on the disk.4.4Installing the DriverThis section is divided into the following three sections:■ Initial OS Installation with the QLA4010/4010C HBA as an Add-on Device■ Adding the QLA4010/4010C HBA to the Existing OS■ Updating the Existing DriverNOTE:■ The system cannot boot from the device attached to the QLA4010/4010CHBA.; consequently, the operating system (OS) cannot be installed on thedevice attached to the QLA4010/4010C HBA.■ The QLA4010 is a multifunction PCI device. Function 1 refers to theQLogic iSCSI initiator device.4.4.1Initial OS Installation with the QLA4010/4010C HBA as an Add-On DeviceNOTE:■ The system cannot boot from a device attached to the QLA4010/4010CHBA; consequently, the operating system (OS) cannot be installed on thedevice attached to the QLA4010/4010C HBA.■ You must create a driver disk (see section 4.3) when installing the OS andthe QL4010.SYS driver. You cannot install the QL4010.SYS driver directly.Perform the following steps to install Windows Sever 2003 and the QL4010.SYSdriver when the QLA4010/4010C HBA is attached to a nonbootable device:1. Start the Windows Sever 2003 installation procedure using the Setup disks orCD.2. If you are booting from the CD and the following message displays, press F6:Press F6 if you want to install a third party SCSI or RAID Driver...
