27MP3/WMA/JPEG andAudio CD playbackThis player can play back MP3/WMA/JPEG-datawhich has been recorded on CD-R or CD-RW.To produce MP3/WMA/JPEG-data, you need aWindows-PC with CD-ROM drive and MP3/WMA/JPEG-encoding software (not supplied).The Apple-HFS-System cannot be played.MP3/WMA/JPEG CD informationLimitations on MP3/WMA/JPEG CD playbackMP3/WMA/JPEG CD is the disc that isstandardized by ISO9660, its file name mustinclude 3-digit extension letters, “mp3”, “wma”, “jpg”.The directory and file names of MP3/WMA/JPEGCD must correspond to ISO standardized files.This unit can read 2000 files per disc. If onedirectory has more than 2000 files, it reads up to2000 files, the remaining files will be omitted.MP3/WMA CDs cannot be used for playback for thepurpose of recording.If the CD has both audio tracks and MP3/WMA/JPEG files, only audio tracks are played.It may take more than one minute for this unitto read MP3/WMA/JPEG files depending on itsstructure.Music recorded by “Joliet Recording Specification”can be played back.The music files recorded by “Hierarchical FileSystem” (HFS) cannot be played.The unit can play back baseline and progressiveJPEG files.MP3 or WMA files on the KODAK Picture CD arenot recognized on this unit.Limitations on displayThe maximum number for display is 15 characters.Long file names will be condensed.Available letters for display are the following:capital or lowercase letters A through Z, numbers 0through 9, and _ (under score).Other letters than those above are replaced by ahyphen.Notes on MP3/WMA/JPEG filesTo play back MP3/WMA/JPEG CD in the recordedorder,Use MP3/WMA/JPEG software that records dataalphabetically or numerically.Name each file including a two-digit or three-digitnumber (e.g. “01” “02” or “001” “002”).Refrain from making too many sub-folders.CAUTION:Some MP3/WMA/JPEG CDs cannot be playedback depending on the recording conditions.The CD-R/RW that has no music data or non-MP3/WMA/JPEG files can not be played back.MP3/WMA CD and Audio CD playback:1 Load a MP3/WMA/JPEG CD or an Audio CD inthe disc slot.2 “Reading” will appear on the TV screen.
